Cyber Evolution, LLC brings to you a visual enhancing CS 1.6 GUI including an out of game steam v3 skin, in-game CS 1.6 background, in-game CS 1.6 steam skin, & minimal in-game modifications. The purpose of the CS 1.6 GUI is to give those that compete in CEVO events the ability to support the league & community while having an enhanced visual appearance to the game. The CS 1.6 GUI will never alter any of your current configuration files upon installation nor will it improve your in-game skill or ability.
2.0 Installation
1] Select either "CEVO GUI 2.0 - Black.zip" or "CEVO GUI 2.0 - White.zip" and open that file.
2] Once open, choose "skin.zip" and extract the file contents to "Steam/Skins".
3] Once "skin.zip" is extracted, execute the "skin.reg" file in the GUI ZIP file you choose.*
4] Depedent upon what resolution you use (ex. 800x600) open that ZIP file.
5] Once open, extract those files to "Steam/SteamApps/your@acct.com/counter-strike/cstrike"
* Instructions marked with an asterik are vital to the entire GUI working across the entire Steam platform.
3.0 Frequently Asked Questions
When opening the ZIP files I see a bunch of files? I don't understand what to do!
Well, if you're reading this right now you're doing at least ONE thing right. If you're using WINZIP as your extractor pay attention to the "paths". I would personally recommend default windows archive utility or IZarc for extracting ZIP & RAR files.
Will the CS 1.6 GUI make me play better?
Unforunately the CS 1.6 GUI will not make anybody better at the game. Not a single GUI you can download will make you better, some GUI's alter specific commands (IE rates) which help your registration.
Can I install the CEVO CS 1.6 GUI over any other GUI?
You can install the CEVO CS 1.6 GUI over any other GUI but it is recommended that you save your "config.cfg" & "userconfig.cfg" file, maps folder, and sounds folder then delete your "cstrike" folder and let the game reinstall it before installing the CEVO CS 1.6 GUI. That way there is no problems with compatibility issues with other GUI's you might attempt to run.
I've read on several forums that the CEVO CS 1.6 GUI is not legal in other leagues, is this true?
The only thing that could possibily considered illegal when it comes to our GUI is the scoreboard modification. To delete the scoreboard modification go to "cstrike/resource/ui/" and delete "scoreboard.res"
When I installed the CS 1.6 GUI a folder called "cevo" was installed in my "cstrike" directory, why?
The CEVO folder in your "cstrike" directory has a single purpose. It holds a "config.cfg" file that is executed at launch, the file holds the aliases for the added buy binds that you have in your keyboard options. These are ALSO cross compatiable with other GUI buy binds.
When I install the skins like in instruction #2 the steam skin is still grey, how do I fix this?
There is no a black v3 steam skin available yet for the CS 1.6 GUI. In the future there will be a black v3 steam skin but at this current release (2.0) there is not.
Since installing the CEVO CS 1.6 GUI none of my settings get saved when I type them in console, what can I do?
For some unexplainable reason, when there is a custom enviroment involved with CS 1.6 at sporadic moments in use settings will not get changed if they are altered via in-game console. In order to keep those settings it would be best to add them to your "userconfig.cfg" file in your "cstrike" directory. If that file is not available, make a copy of "config.cfg" and rename it to "userconfig". Once renamed, remove the contents and include altered commands you would like to use.
In the CEVO 1.6 rules it clearly states that all players must use a default installation of the game, are we still allowed to use the CEVO 1.6 GUI or another leagues GUI?
You are indeed allowed to use the CEVO CS 1.6 GUI or another leagues GUI as long as that GUI doesn't not compromise the game enviroment with any type of client hooks, cheats, or 3rd party applications.
